Glean

to learn, discover, or find out, usually little by little or slowly.

I think gleaning is what we need to with the joys in every day. Notice the things that others may overlook. Find the little bits of beauty and kindness and pay attention to them. Pick them up and put them in your gleaning basket, for you can feast on them later. 

Last night, the moon was about a quarter full, hanging like a smile in the night sky. The entire moon was visible, though, a slim band of light barely showing the other 3/4. 

And it was beautiful.
